Hooray! You made it. Baby is now interacting with you, able to sleep through the night (if you're lucky), and learning all sorts of cool things like waving, clapping, crawling & walking...maybe even talking! Here is what baby and you can't live without:
Necessities for 6 to 12 month-olds
1. more diapers. You get the idea. If you buy too many, baby grows out of that size & you’re not keen on using duct tape, bring them to your doctor for their office emergencies. Then maybe they’ll call you right back next time you’re in crisis mode.
2. time to safety-proof! Baby will start crawling, and all of those decorative tchochkies you’ve been collecting need to be put away until baby is, say, 22. You should also buy those plastic thingies that will keep your lower cabinets closed.
3. invest in a simple food grinder so that you can nourish baby with the organic vegetables from your garden. HA! Or just have some canned baby food around. We won’t tell.
4. Have a stash of baby crackers around. This will help with teething, too.
5. Never, we repeat never, leave home without a plastic container of cheerios. Unless you don’t want to have an adult conversation until baby is 22. See step #2.
6. a breast pump if you’re planning on going back to work. Or going out of the house at anytime without baby.
7. soft toys—your once pristine, elegant home is gone forever…
8. books! Hard covers or squishy books are always best.
9. lovey blankets—this travel size blanket will go easily from home to daycare to Grandma’s.
